Places & Timeline
Project Places
MEM-ART UNI connects Vienna, Wrocław and Marseille – three cities with distinct histories of Jewish life, persecution, displacement and remembrance. Bringing together perspectives from Central, Eastern and Western Europe, MEM-ART UNI places local histories in a shared European context and explores how memories are transmitted, interpreted and reshaped across generations and borders.
Student Participation
Students from the Universities of Vienna, Wrocław and Aix-Marseille take part in MEM-ART UNI through university courses and project-related workshops. Depending on the local academic setting, they engage with Holocaust remembrance, oral history and artistic practice as part of their studies.
- At the University of Vienna, Master’s students in Comparative Literature at the Department of European and Comparative Literature and Language Studies.
- At the University of Wrocław, Master’s students in Literary Studies at the Department of German Studies, as well as students from the Taube Department of Jewish Studies.
- At Aix-Marseille Université, students from the Department of German Studies (DEG) and the Interuniversity Institute for Jewish Studies and Culture (IECJ).
